We hosted our first workshop in the last week that took place at Laxmi Narayan Temple in collaboration with ARC (part of Central & North West London).
This Project, funded by Hounslow Council, is a safe space to discuss how the council can improve its services for YOU!
The objectives of the Faith Community Engagement workshops are to engage with faith communities, while providing them with an opportunity to discuss any success or challenges that their communities may be facing in modern day Britian. This discussion is followed by an incredibly insightful short presentation on Domestic Abuse and Mental Well-being - two topics touching on core aspects of many individuals lives. These presentations touch on the impact of Domestic Abuse on Women, Children and Families, as well as Mental Wellbeing. Covering areas such as susbtance misuse, self-harm, depression/anxiety, family and cultural pressures - we aim to provide a safe environment to explore these issues in further depth.
It's crucial to spread awareness on Domestic Abuse and to be a part of these conversations so that people can recognize the signs, provide support, and help break the cycle. By discussing this topic in different communities, we can ensure that everyone understands the importance of empathy, respect, and creating safe environments for everyone. Similarly, focusing on mental wellbeing in different communities is essential because it helps reduce stigma, encourages open conversations, and promotes access to resources and support. Together, we can create a more compassionate and understanding world for everyone.
